Kennington Carpetcleaning Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning equipment and prepared room for serviceThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Kennington Carpetcleaning provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services, including upholstery, rug, and related fabric-cleaning work. By making a booking, the customer agrees to these terms in full. The purpose of this document is to define expectations clearly, protect both parties, and ensure a professional service is delivered in line with UK consumer law and standard industry practice.

In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Kennington Carpetcleaning, while “you” and “your” refer to the person or business placing the booking. The service may be arranged for private households, landlords, letting agents, offices, or other premises where carpet cleaning is required. These terms apply to all bookings unless varied in writing and agreed by both parties.

Professional carpet cleaning appointment being arrangedA booking request may be made by telephone, email, online form, or any other method offered at the time. A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted the request, agreed the scope of work, and provided a date or time window. Where a quotation is given, it is based on the information supplied at the time of enquiry, including carpet type, room sizes, access conditions, stain concerns, and any special treatment required. If the actual service differs from the description provided, we may revise the price or decline to carry out additional work.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that all details supplied during the booking process are accurate and complete. This includes the nature of the surfaces to be cleaned, any damage already present, known stains, previous treatments, and whether the area contains delicate materials or restricted access. Where parking, loading, lifts, security restrictions, or entry arrangements may affect attendance, these should be disclosed in advance. Any delay or additional cost caused by inaccurate information may be charged to the customer.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking if the premises are unsafe, inaccessible, unsuitable for the requested work, or if the condition of the items means that cleaning is likely to cause damage. Some marks, wear, or contamination may be permanent. We cannot guarantee complete removal of all stains, odours, or discolouration, especially where damage is old, set-in, or the result of prior unsuccessful cleaning attempts. Any estimate regarding outcomes is given in good faith and is not a promise of a specific finish.

Appointments are scheduled according to availability and may be subject to change due to operational needs, travel disruption, weather conditions, staff illness, or equipment failure. We will take reasonable steps to attend within the agreed period, but exact times cannot always be guaranteed. If we need to reschedule, we will act reasonably and notify you as soon as possible. Any date, time, or service window given is an estimate unless expressly confirmed as fixed.

Cleaning products and tools used for carpet treatmentPayment terms will be provided at the time of booking or before the service begins. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the work on the same day. We may accept bank transfer, card payment, cash, or another method stated at the time of booking. Where a deposit, part-payment, or pre-authorisation is requested, the booking may remain provisional until cleared funds are received. Prices may be quoted as fixed fees or as estimates, depending on the information available when the job is arranged.

If the actual service takes longer, requires additional chemicals, involves extra rooms or items, or is affected by conditions not disclosed in advance, we may charge a reasonable supplementary amount. Any extra charge will be explained where practicable before the additional work is carried out. Non-payment, late payment, or payment refusal may result in debt recovery action, reasonable administration charges, and suspension of future services. Title to any goods supplied in connection with the service does not pass until payment has been received in full.

All sums stated are inclusive or exclusive of VAT only where clearly specified. If VAT is applicable, it will be charged at the prevailing rate. We may update pricing from time to time, but changes will not affect a booking that has already been accepted unless the scope of work changes or the information provided by the customer proves materially inaccurate. Discounts, promotional offers, or package rates are offered at our discretion and may be withdrawn at any time before a booking is confirmed.

Cancellations and rearrangements should be made as early as possible. If you need to cancel or change the appointment, please provide reasonable notice. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or where our team attends and cannot gain access, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover travel time, labour, and reserved scheduling capacity. The amount charged will be reasonable and proportionate to the loss caused by the late cancellation or missed appointment.

If we need to cancel or reschedule, we will notify you promptly and offer an alternative time where possible. We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, accidents, road closures, strikes, supply shortages, power failures, or emergency maintenance. In such cases, our obligation is to act fairly and make reasonable efforts to rearrange the service. We will not be responsible for indirect losses arising from a delay that is outside our control.

By booking, you confirm that you or an authorised adult will be present at the premises unless we have agreed otherwise. You must ensure access to the property and the work area, and you must secure or remove valuable, fragile, or obstructive items before the service begins. We may move light furniture or other movable items where necessary, but we are not required to move heavy, fixed, valuable, or unsafe items. If items are moved, we will do so with reasonable care, but any pre-existing weakness or instability remains the customer’s responsibility.

Service team preparing for carpet cleaning workLiability is limited to losses directly caused by our negligence or breach of contract, subject always to the extent permitted by law. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded. However, we are not responsible for indirect, consequential, or economic losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or damage caused by factors outside our reasonable control. The customer is encouraged to remove sensitive items and protect items at risk before work begins.

We take care to use suitable products and methods for the material being treated, but some fabrics, dyes, finishes, adhesives, or underlays may react unpredictably to moisture, heat, agitation, or cleaning solutions. Existing damage, fading, colour transfer, pre-wear, shrinkage, seam separation, pile distortion, and hidden defects may become more visible after cleaning. Where this occurs, it does not necessarily mean that we have acted improperly. Natural variation in textile response is not a defect in service if the cleaning was carried out with reasonable skill and care.

The customer remains responsible for making us aware of any known sensitivities, allergies, contamination risks, pets, infestations, or hazardous materials at the premises. If we reasonably believe that the environment is unsafe or the work cannot be completed without risk, we may stop or refuse the service. Any equipment, flooring, or property that is already weak, unstable, or poorly maintained is cleaned at the customer’s risk, provided that we have acted with reasonable care and skill.

We comply with applicable waste management and environmental regulations in the UK. Waste generated in the course of the service, including used cloths, packaging, recovered debris, or residues, will be handled responsibly. We will not knowingly dispose of controlled, hazardous, or prohibited waste in an unlawful manner. Where contaminated materials, excessive waste water, or specialist disposal is involved, the customer must disclose this in advance and may be charged for any lawful additional handling, containment, transport, or disposal requirements.

The customer must not request that we remove, dilute, discharge, or dispose of substances in a way that would breach environmental law, water authority rules, local drainage restrictions, or health and safety obligations. If the service involves waste water extraction, the customer is responsible for providing lawful drainage access or identifying any limitations. We may refuse to carry out work if it would create a risk of pollution, blockage, contamination, or regulatory breach. Any customer instruction that conflicts with legal obligations will be declined.

We may record essential job details, site notes, and service history for operational and record-keeping purposes. Such information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law. Where photographs are taken for quality, reporting, or documentation purposes, they will be used only for legitimate business purposes unless another use is separately agreed. Personal data will not be shared unnecessarily and will be kept only for as long as needed for lawful and business purposes.

Final stage of a professional carpet cleaning serviceAny complaint about the service should be raised promptly so that we can review the issue and, where appropriate, offer a remedy. We may request reasonable evidence, including photos, a description of the issue, and an opportunity to inspect the affected area. If a follow-up visit is appropriate, it will usually be limited to the specific area or item affected. No remedy will be offered for issues caused by pre-existing conditions, normal drying, re-soiling from external sources, or the customer’s own actions after completion.

These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or commercial changes. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that booking unless a later written agreement states otherwise. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Failure to enforce any right or provision at any time does not mean that the right has been waived.

These terms are intended to be fair and transparent. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. Where the customer is a business, the service is provided on the basis of these terms and any additional written terms agreed between the parties. If there is any conflict between a written quotation and these Terms and Conditions, the quotation will prevail only to the extent of that specific conflict.

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may benefit from mandatory protections under applicable consumer legislation. Any disagreement should first be addressed in good faith, and both parties agree to use reasonable efforts to resolve matters informally before considering formal proceedings. If a court determines that any term is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the agreement will continue to apply.

For the avoidance of doubt, the service provided by Kennington Carpetcleaning is a professional cleaning service only. We do not provide legal, structural, electrical, or plumbing advice, and we do not accept responsibility for defects or failures in the property’s existing condition. The customer acknowledges that cleaning is a treatment of existing materials and not a restoration or refurbishment service. By confirming a booking, you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
